Why Consistency Beats Everything
I have coached dozens of people over the years. The ones who get results are not the ones with the best genetics or the most free time. They are the ones who show up consistently, even when it is not perfect.
I am not talking about grinding seven days a week. I am talking about three to four sessions, done every single week, for months on end. That is what moves the needle. Not a two week blitz followed by three weeks off.
I know this because I lived the opposite for years. Before I lost 160 pounds, I was the king of starting over. New program every month. New diet every Monday. Zero consistency. You can read the full story on my journey page, but the short version is: nothing worked until I built a system I could actually stick to.
Build Your Training Around Your Worst Week
Most people design their training schedule around their best week. Full energy, no obligations, nothing going wrong. Then real life hits and the whole plan falls apart.
I tell every client the same thing: plan for your worst week. If you can only guarantee three sessions when everything goes sideways, then three sessions is your baseline. Not five. Not six. Three.
When you build around the floor instead of the ceiling, you actually stick to it. And three sessions done 52 weeks a year will always beat six sessions done for three weeks.
Track Something Every Single Day
You do not need to log every macro to the gram. But you need to track something daily. Water intake. Steps. Sleep. Something that keeps you connected to the process even on rest days.
With my clients, we use a shared Google Sheet that tracks weight, sleep, water, macros, energy, and digestion. It takes two minutes to fill out. But it does something powerful: it keeps the conversation going between sessions.
When I see a client’s tracker go blank for three days, I know something is off before they even tell me. That is where the real coaching happens.
Accountability Is the Product
Here is something most people do not realize: the workout program is maybe 20% of what makes coaching work. The other 80% is accountability.
Anyone can find a decent program on YouTube. The reason people hire a coach is because they need someone watching. Someone who notices when they skip. Someone who sends a message on Wednesday asking why the tracker is empty.
My system is built around this. Every client gets daily WhatsApp check ins. Weekly Loom video reviews where I go through their form, their tracking data, and their progress. A shared tracker that both of us can see in real time.
It is not about me being a drill sergeant. It is about creating a structure where falling off becomes harder than staying on.
Three Sessions Done Consistently Beats Six Sessions Done Randomly
I have seen this pattern dozens of times. A new client comes in fired up. They want to train five or six days a week. They go hard for two weeks. Then they burn out, miss a week, feel guilty, and spiral.
The clients who actually transform their bodies are the ones who start with three sessions and never miss. After a few months, they might add a fourth. But the foundation is consistency, not intensity.
One of my clients was working 60 hour weeks with two kids. We started with three 45 minute sessions. That was it. Six months later, he had lost 35 pounds and was stronger than he had been in a decade. Not because the program was magic. Because he never missed a week.
You can see more stories like this on my testimonials page.
What to Do When You Fall Off
It happens. Life gets in the way. You miss a week. Maybe two. The worst thing you can do is try to “make up for it” by doubling your sessions the next week.
Just go back to your baseline. Three sessions. Fill out your tracker. Send your coach a message. The gap does not matter. What matters is how fast you get back on.
Stop Waiting for the Perfect Time
There is no perfect time to start. There is no magical week where your schedule clears up and your motivation peaks and everything aligns. That week does not exist.
The best time to start is when it is inconvenient. Because if you can build the habit when life is messy, it will stick when things calm down.
